Memorable Moments for Lefty Grove
- 12 December 1933 - Boston makes a trade with the Philadelphia Athletics that brings future Hall-of-Fame pitcher Lefty Grove to the Red Sox.
- 27 July 1935 - Lefty Grove hits a grand slam in a 7-6, extra-inning loss, one of only four Red Sox pitchers to hit a bases-loaded home run in club history.
- 16 April 1940 - Forty-year-old Lefty Grove pitches a two-hitter on Opening Day at Griffith Stadium in Washington as Boston wins, 1-0, Grove's last of 35 career shutouts.
- 25 July 1941 - Southpaw Lefty Grove wins his 300th and final game, pitching a complete game as the Red Sox rally twice to beat the Indians 10-6 at Fenway Park.
