Memorable Moments for Darnell McDonald
- 20 April 2010 - Journeyman Darnell McDonald makes his Boston debut with a pinch-hit two-run home run in the eighth to tie the score, then singles home the game-winning RBI in the ninth as the Red Sox beat the Rangers 7-6 at Fenway Park.
- 7 August 2011 - Right fielder Josh Reddick hits a one-out single down the left field line to plate Darnell McDonald and give the Red Sox a walk-off 3-2 win over the Yankees in 10 innings at Fenway Park. Boston had tied the game the previous inning on a sacrifice fly by Dustin Pedroia off New York closer Mariano Rivera.
- 6 May 2012 - Both the Red Sox and Orioles use position players to pitch in a 17-inning contest at Fenway Park, with Baltimore winning 9-6. Chris Davis, who started the game as the DH, throws two scoreless innings for the win, while Darnell McDonald, who entered as a pinch runner for David Ortiz in the eighth, is saddled with the loss. It is the first game since 1925 in which both teams employ position players as pitchers.
