Memorable Moments for Ellis Burks
- 11 January 1983 - The Boston Red Sox select outfielder Ellis Burks in the first round of the January free agent draft.
- 10 June 1987 - Ellis Burks and Marty Barrett both hit grand slams as Boston ties a major league single game record.
- 27 August 1990 - Ellis Burks becomes the first Red Sox player since former second baseman Bill Regan in 1928 to hit two home runs in one inning as an eight-run fourth helps Boston rock Cleveland, 12-4. Burks also finishes with five RBI.
- 5 February 2004 - Returning home to where he started his career, free agent designated hitter Ellis Burks signs a one-year deal with Boston.
- 6 August 2011 - Jacoby Ellsbury knocks in six runs in a 10-4 win for the Red Sox over the Yankees. He is the seventh Boston player since 1919 to do so from the leadoff spot in the batting order and the first since Ellis Burks in 1987.
