- 29 July 2003 - Switch-hitter Bill Mueller becomes the first player in history to hit grand slams from both sides of the plate in one game as the Red Sox third baseman hits three home runs and drives home nine in a 14-7 win over the Rangers in Texas.
- 28 September 2003 - Bill Mueller wins the American League batting title over teammate Manny Ramirez with a .326 average, going 0-for-1 in a pinch-hitting appearance in a 3-1 Red Sox loss to the Devil Rays.
- 24 July 2004 - Jason Varitek and Alex Rodriguez rumble after the latter is hit by a Bronson Arroyo pitch in the third; Boston gets the last laugh and rallies to win 11-10 over New York at Fenway Park thanks to Bill Mueller's two-run home run in the ninth off Yankees closer Mariano Rivera.
- 30 September 2018 - In the final game of the regular season, the Red Sox thump the Yankees 10-2 at Fenway Park to secure win number 108, a new franchise high water mark for wins in a season. Mookie Betts goes 1-for-2 and wins the American League batting title with a .346 average, the first Boston player to lead the league since Bill Mueller in 2003.
