- 24 June 2012 - The Red Sox send first baseman Kevin Youkilis and cash to the White Sox for Brent Lillibridge and Zach Stewart following a 9-4 Red Sox win over the Braves at Fenway Park. Ahead of the trade, Youkilis goes 2-for-4 and hits an RBI triple in the seventh inning before being lifted for pinch-hitter Nick Punto.
- 25 August 2012 - In one of the biggest and most surprising trades in team history, the Red Sox send Josh Beckett, Carl Crawford, Adrian Gonzalez, Nick Punto and cash to the Los Angeles Dodgers in exchange for Ivan De Jesus, James Loney and Allen Webster. The Dodgers later complete the trade by sending Rubby De La Rosa and Jerry Sands to the Red Sox on 04 October.
